INCEPTION
Global Players advanced into the ‘Liberalized’ Indian market, 1996~99 saw the
advent of major global automobile manufacturers like GM, HONDA, HYUNDAI
etc.
DENSO’s Thinking behind setup of a new factory in Southern India was
primarily to support main Japanese customer TOYOTA, so planned to start a JV
with Kirloskar group.
1998 Joint Venture between DENSO and Kirloskar to form DENSO Kirloskar,
Established DENSO Kirloskar Industries Pvt. Ltd. (DNKI) at Bengaluru
(Karnataka) to cater Southern manufacturers.
DNKI is India Region’s Thermal Manufacturer established with a purpose to
serve the main Customer Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited in the year 1998.
The Green Project was set up to produce / manufacture products on Air-
conditioning and Cooling System with a fresh team of individuals guided by the
team of experts from DNJP .

Expanding Customers both Domestic and International
With First Delivery to Customers Toyota Kirloskar & Maruti Suzuki India Limited
in 1999, DNKI gradually introduced new customers to its portfolio:
- November 1999, introduction of Maruti Suzuki
- April 2000, introduction of Hindustan Motors (Mitsubishi)
- October 2006, First Delivery to Customer - Honda Motors India Pvt. Ltd.,
Joins Bus A/C Business in November 2006 introduction of Volvo & other Coach

- 2007 , DENSO Kirloskar entry into Export Business (DN Subsidiaries), January
2007 was the first export Order. Also exporting to DNJP . Since then, the exports
have been to MEA, APAC, South and North American Region
